Quality Mark

Look for the Quality Mark; you really can believe what it says on the label

The Quality Mark is a clear, objective symbol of end-use suitability exclusively for Carpet Foundation manufacturers.

It guarantees that the end-use suitability claims for a product made by the manufacturer are factually correct based on British and European Standards. It is the only quality assurance initiative in the UK carpet industry and gives you peace of mind that you really can believe what it says on the label.
How does the Quality Mark work?

Using the results from British Standard product tests, a weighted factor matrix gives an overall measure of suitability. The matrix applies weightings to wear index, appearance retention, surface pile density, tuft density and luxury rating.

An overall score is then produced which corresponds to one of the following suitability descriptors:

- Light domestic
- Moderate domestic
- General domestic
- Heavy domestic
- Extra heavy domestic

There are over 400 products with the Quality Mark and all are registered with the Carpet Foundation.

The Quality Mark is only awarded to products that have been tested. Furthermore, regular random product testing is independently carried out to guarantee ongoing conformance and since its launch in 2001, no product manufactured by a member of the Carpet Foundation has ever failed the independent testing.

A product cannot carry the Quality Mark if the suitability claim is not backed up by the test results so you really can believe what it says on the label!
